Major Update for Nokia Diagnostics – Version 1.74 now Available for S60 5th Edition

Nokia Beta Labs have just rolled out their first Update of Nokia Diagnostics, and its a Major update too. This latest update is for all S60 5th Edition devices, however, the Beta Labs team tell us they are working on a Symbian^3 version, which should be available very soon.

This new version contains more extensive set of tests to help you to figure out where the problem may be on your Nokia device, and it also contains the advanced mode functionality for techie users and possibility to run all tests or all subcategory of tests. The look and feel of the client has also been improved.

I have installed this on my N97, and whilst is allowed the installation onto Mass Memory, I was prompted that the application was not compatible with my device, but chose to continue anyway. Upon launching the application, I was faced with a System Error warning. If you have any problems like this, be sure to let the Beta Labs team know right away! Hopefully the error I am getting is specific to my device as I do test many applications every day.

Update on above error – The Beta Labs team have informed us that this application needs to be installed onto your phone memory C:, and NOT Mass Memory like I did. Installing to phone memory will now work, confirmed

This mix appeared originally in 1986 on the Geffen promo 7″ and later in 1989 as the single version on 45 and cassette to promote the “Say Anything” Soundtrack (WTG records). The 1986 “single version” was over 6 minutes long and this was the “radio edit”. It contains the additional verse at the end similar to how Peter plays this song live. “…accepting all I’ve done and said…” This audio is from the 1989 Promo CD single. Enjoy!

N900 Firmware Update to version PR 1.3 (V20.2010.36-2)

Thanks to our good friend CJ we have come to learn of a brand new firmware update for Maemo Nokia device the N900. CJ goes on to inform us that this firmware release is still being rolled out to all the various product codes, and not to worry if you don’t yet see the update for your N900, just try again later.

The N900 PR1.3 release can be obtained via OTA (Over The Air), and best to be carried out over your home wifi network. This method of updating should, in theory restore all of your pre-installed applications, games, photos, and contacts etc, but as a safeguard its recommended that you carry out a back up, just in case something should go wrong during your updating process.

If you have Extras-Devel related content on your N900, you maybe wise to make a note of everything you have installed via that resource, and manually uninstall any of these related apps just in case they are not functionality compatible with this new release of firmware. There is no official change log at this time, but early reports coming in state that Ovi Suite Support is now added, and several performance tweaks have been integrated.
